Associate Attorney – Workers’ Compensation
Atkins David’s attorneys represent employers, insurers, and third party administrators in workers’ compensation matters throughout Georgia. The firm also represents businesses and individuals in general liability matters, and represents doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in medical malpractice claims.
As an extension of our workers’ compensation and civil litigation practices, the firm offers a Workplace Crisis Management practice area, which provides support to companies that experience catastrophic workplace events including fires, explosions and criminal acts of third parties. Associates may have the opportunity to assist the crisis management team in providing assistance in governmental inquiries, communication within the company and with the press, and determination of liabilities of potential third parties.
Atkins David is unique in that the firm gives associates meaningful responsibility early in their careers and actively supports their professional development, including efforts to establish their own clients. Our lawyers learn how to manage claims from start to finish, with limited partner supervision. Some additional duties and responsibilities include:
- Representation of clients at trials and mediations
- Drafting client report letters and post-trial briefs
- Developing strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases, as well as negotiating and settling cases
- Full case handling, including discovery, client interaction, witness interviews, and trial preparation
Atkins David’s associates are a vital part of our collaborative work environment. Our lawyers work hard, but the firm supports a healthy work/life balance. The firm provides an excellent salary and benefits package including employer-paid health insurance premiums and a matching 401K plan.
